Crews will temporarily close all lanes of northbound Interstate 405 between Northeast 124th Street (Exit 20B) and Northeast 160th Street (Exit 22) to install a new sign bridge structure in January 2024. Closing northbound I-405 for this work enables crews to complete construction activities along the highway more safely and efficiently.
During the closure, expect travel delays and plan for increased travel times.
Below is a summary of traffic changes for drivers in the area:

Below is a summary of traffic changes for drivers in the area:
- The northbound I-405 closure will take place over one night in January 2024. We will share specific timing in the new year.
- Northbound travelers on I-405 will exit the highway at Northeast 124th Street and reenter I-405 at Northeast 160th Street via the signed detour route.
- The detour route will direct travelers to exit northbound I-405 at Northeast 124th Street (Exit 20B).
- Drivers will then travel west on Northeast 124th Street, north on 100th Avenue Northeast and north on Juanita Woodinville Way Northeast.
- Drivers will reenter northbound I-405 using the on-ramp at Northeast 160th Street.
- Please adhere to posted speed limits while driving along the detour route.
